ABOUT US

South Texas Alliance of Career Champions (STACC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to minimizing underemployment and maximizing workforce development among individuals in the South Texas region.

The purpose of the South Texas Alliance of Career Champions (STACC) is to impact economic and workforce development among students of colleges and universities in Texas by creating equitable access to career opportunities through:

  • In-depth educational and experiential learning events such as workshops, conferences, lectures, seminars, and/or similar activities,

  • Strengthening the relationships and/or building alliances between STACC and other economic or workforce development organizations,

  • Promoting awareness of career pathways for students across a wide spectrum of various experiential learning activities and

  • Providing avenues for the active exchange of ideas, experience, and opportunities for career development among educators, employers, and/or students. 

 

The scope of the organization will cover the territory from San Antonio south to the Rio Grande Valley including the Texas cities of Corpus Christi and Kingsville, west to Del Rio and El Paso and north to San Marcos, Seguin and Kerrville. The focus of STACC will be to contribute towards minimizing and/or eliminating underemployment in these economic areas. Underemployment is defined when an individual takes a job that is a position where the qualifications are less than they can perform.  Further the organization will support to maximize workforce development contributing to economic growth of the region.  

STACC is a non-profit corporation and shall operate exclusively for educational and charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or the corresponding section of any future Federal tax code.
